Enterprise Linux How-To Guides
It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything and I feel it’s time to be more active.
Over the next few months I’m going to provide a set of basic articles on setting up a basic enterprise Linux environment. The FOSS world includes a huge amount of extremely capable solutions and those on a shoestring budget can now access the tools to establish a basic enterprise computing environment without the cost or lock-in associated with traditional enterprise software.
This tutorial series will include the following components:
- FreeIPA Server (directory services)
- Foreman/Katello (host deployment and lifecycle management)
- Puppet (configuration management)
- Icinga2 and Grafana (monitoring)
This is all based on a collection of knowledge I’ve put together over a long time. I’m only touching on the basics and they will likely require some adaptation to suit your own environment and needs, but hopefully this is a good starting point for those new to these products and who find the scattered plethora online documentation a little confusing.
